The day is almost nigh, ohohoho. I wrote the tech exam, so basically I'm leaving this Wednesday. XDDD Take that, educational system!!1

I'm starting to get a little anxious, because I know there's NO way everything's gonna fit into my suitcase. I am only allowed to take 20kg and 10kg in hand luggage, aaaaaah. My laptop, tablet and all the other tech stuff alone weigh 10kg I think. XD;; And I need to take warm clothing because Liverpool is generally colder and I'll be there till the end of October (which is basically winter 8D; ). It doesn't help that the suitcase itself already weighs 5kg. D8{

On the bright side, I got myself the coolest external harddrive ever, a Seagate FreeAgent Go with 320GB. 8D I love it, it's so small and handy.

My parents were on vacation for a little bit over a week, I'm jealous. XD I've always teased them how old/boring they are to return for to the German North Sea where we've spent the summer each year for like 4-6 weeks for a decade when I was a kid. XD
I visited them for a day there and man... I realized I really miss the North Sea. 8D;;; The rough weather, the salty air, the colourful wicker beach chairs, the annoying loud seagulls XDD It all has a special sort of flair.
We paid a visit to the new climate house in Bremerhaven, which is showcasing climates across the world. It was pretty interesting, but at times you went from 40°C and 95% humidity (I'm not even exaggerating) into a room with -10°C. There is no way you could've been dressed properly for that kind of place, even with a billion layers you can add on or take off. XD; I actually visited them because it was my mom's birthday that day, so in the evening we ate in a nice little restaurant by the sea (which I've picked especially because my mom loves fish, and what did she order? A steak sandwich XD; *headdesks*).
The next day we spent in Cuxhaven, watching the sea and doing a bit of shopping. 8D Then I had to go back again to continue studying. T_T

BUT OF COURSE I TOOK PICTURES YOU GUYS:

From left to right: Typical wicker beach chairs, seagulls (the smaller ones, there are some with white heads that are huge), Störtebecker? XD;, another seagull in Cuxhaven, ship and statue in Cuxhaven near the "Alte Liebe" (Old Love), more chairs, spinach and salmon lasagna (lol), and SOMETHING COLOURFUL. A huge ice cream cone full of bouncy balls, how could I not take a picture of it?

I watched Harry Potter yesterday! XD It's weird that I don't have a real opinion on it. I didn't think it was teh_shit, but it wasn't horribly bad, either. It probably helps that I haven't read the book in forever. XDD I just remember how I was bothered by all the snogging (seriously, it seemed never-ending) and would have liked a little more Half-Blood Prince-related content. 8D; In that regard the movie was a little less cringeworthy (although still cringeworthy enough XD; ). The Burrow being attacked was pretty random, and I felt like the cave scene wasn't good enough. I remember really suffering with Dumbledore/Harry and actually finding the Inferi (which were friggin CORPSE PARTS) scary as shit. They looked more like Gollum in the movie and Dumbledore didn't seemed to be all THAT bothered by drinking the potion. XD
I mean it really was heart-wrenching torture in the book 8D;;; In the movie it was all
Dumbledore: "Don't make me drink this stuff again."
Harry: "Aw come on, just one more for me!"
Dumbledore: "Well okay."

So I guess this is my last LJ entry before Liverpool :000000000 omg you guys. Angstangstangst. Yet excitement. I'll keep you updated. XDD

Whoo, I have a new laptop! Because of my troubles of getting one with XP installed that's not a netbook, I got one with a free DOS to install the stuff myself. Thankfully my university still gives out XP licenses. @_@
It's a Hewlett-Packard one with a 15.4 inch screen, 160GB, 3GB RAM and 2GHz. The graphic chip is enough for me to run Photoshop, so it's perfect to take it along on the trip. XD When I need a laptop for work later on I'll get one with a better graphics card, but this one will be just fine in the meantime, and it works perfectly. 8D ♥ It only cost 370€ you guise! That's cheaper (and better) than most netbooks, ahaha. I think I might take along an additional external harddrive though, with enough space for a little movie/tv shows collection. XD
I've never had a laptop before (never needed one), but it's fun now to slouch around on my bed while being online. XDD I need to get a mouse for it though, the touchpad is overy sensitive and I keep clicking things that I don't want to click XD (although I'm sure that can be helped through configuration *lazy*).

toasterdog visited me for a week and we had lots of fun watching Star Trek TOS and failing at Super Mario Bros. XD I downloaded some SNES games yesterday and ordered a game pad today 8DD Yay! I miss playing Yoshi's Island. I should probably get the real game as well, though D; I only have it for the GBA.

I'm currently still looking for a nice room in Liverpool. (actually I haven't been for a week- I guess that's sorta bad for pending offers XD; ) There are so many sites for it and you always have to write to people to ask for more info and pictures, arggh. There are always advantages and disadvantages to each offer. Some include cleaning of the bathroom/kitchen in their rent, that's so tempting. 8D;; I started a categorized list to at least keep track a little. XDD Already managed to book the flights, despite Ryanair being a total bitch and not letting me book anything for several hours, there were errors popping up everywhere lolz. @_@;;

I also discovered a little bagel shop in my city that I'm unreasonably happy about. XDD There aren't a lot of bagels around here!
Oh, and this bunny has nothing to do with anything whatsoever. It just appeared while drawing. XDD

Summer internship in Liverpool as a concept artist for a gaming company.

I'm super excited. @_@
They don't pay that much so I'll have to support myself for the most part, but whee, work experience! Now I have to go buy a laptop. XD;;; So I won't be completely cut off from THE INTERBUTTS AND YOU while being gone. (This should totally be a book, ~*The Interbutts and You*~)

So, I know I'm an idiot for asking this, but is it easy to de-install Vista on a laptop and install Windows XP?
I ask this because all laptops you can get here have Vista pre-installed. T_T
I want XP. I could get XP Professional really cheap from my university, so if it worked that easily, that would be great. @_@ I dunno, maybe I'm just too suspicious of those sellers. XDDD I always think they build in barriers or something.

So, I was the last person on Earth to see the new Star Trek movie. XDDD Here's my selective opinion on it (because I always forget major points anyway XD).
I was a bit afraid because of JJ Abrams and all that, you know. (I really hated Cloverfield >_>) But I was pleasantly surprised. 8D

First off, it was really FUN to watch. 8D Really kept my interest up all the way through.
I loved the Romulan ship design! Although the Romulans themselves confused me, I know they have the same ancestors as the Vulcans, but they really looked like tattooed Vulcans. 8D;; (the main baddie had Mulder's voice in the German dub olololol)
The space scenes were awesome @-@ really neat CGI. Maybe a BIT much fake lensflare in the first half. XDDD The whole new parallel universe/time travel thing was a bit obscure, but maybe that's because I was tired. 8D;

About the characters, I really liked their representations overall. Lol, Chekov was awesome (although I thought they overdid him a little). I think they could've toned down that young-Kirk-was-such-a-daredevil-omg, because it just seemed stupid to me. XD; But Kirk was better once he was on the Enterprise. Paul McGillion as Scotty would've been so much more fitting, but oh well. XD
Uhura was really empathic (ollolol), but that's sorta fitting I guess, and Quinto as Spock was pretty awesome, I must admit. And Leonard Nimoy had a bigger role than I thought!

BUT. Spock/Uhura? XD REALLY? Come on. It was sweet and I guess okay if you haven't seen TOS at all. Because this doesn't really fit. But if you just see it as non-sorta-half-canon, it's still fun. XD I can deal with that.

I'M ADDICTED. Seriously. Someone tell me a substitute to espresso, I don't dare to drink more than 2 espressi a day. (NO DON'T SAY DECAF, IT'S A SIN) I was thinking hot chocolate maybe, but that's a lot thicker/sweeter. @_@

I've started my Harry Potter project! XDDD Meaning I'll just read all books again and pick some things to draw. XDD Some pics will be sketchy, some probably more detailed... at it will take FOREVER. Olololol.

I've watched some new films and the like! Some opinions:

A State of Mind This is a really interesting documentary about the North Korean "Mass Games" (which I didn't even know existed). It follows two girls, participants in the games, and their families. It's absolutely fascinating to see that Kim Jong-Il cult from inside the country and it makes North Koreans a lot more human. You can watch it on YouTube 8'D

Watchmen: Dunno, interesting visuals, but I couldn't connect with any of the characters. I thought most of them were ridiculous (especially that sex scene, oh lol XD). Rorschach was sorta cool.

Doctor Who Easter Special: I was expecting more from a Doctor Who Special, because omg, the Christmas Specials are always rather awesome. D8 But this one didn't do anything for me, I thought it was even worse than most episodes. I didn't like that Lady Christina character (Mary Sue much?) an thought the dialogue wasn't as witty as usual. D:

Whatever happened to Baby Jane: Hee, I liked it. Very interesting story with a twist in the end and engaging despite its age.

Oh, and did you hear that there's a Donnie Darko sequel planned? About his sister, you know, the one from the girly dance group. WTFFFF. I thought that was such a nice closed story. STOP WRECKING MOVIES. (I DOUBT YOUR COMMITMENT TO SPARKLE MOTION.)

Speaking of which, there are rumours that there's gonna be another Hannibal movie... with Hopkins! @_@ I love him as Hannibal Lecter, but I think I remember him saying that he didn't want to play the role again, and there isn't even a BOOK (and the last book wasn't even that good) and now I'm afraid they're gonna fuck up the franchise. u_u (also, another actress as Clarice Starling AGAIN D8| )

I wonder when Coraline is gonna come out in Germany, I'm looking forward to that. Where The Wild Things Are might be great, too. 8D

Anyhow, whoa, I need to return to LJ big time. *cradles flist* D8 I think I ask this every year, but what will you guys do over the summer? XDDD Me, I have no idea where I'll be. @_@ I'll either get an internship or not. Lolz. (never mind that I have U2 concert tickets for London in August and can't even book a flight because I don't know where I'll be then XDDDD; I hope it'll work out anyway and I won't have to spend a fortune to get there)

Oh, I wrecked my digicam on Easter! XD; That was rather sad. I mean, it survived Bolivia with all that dry air and extreme temperature change... and then I drop it onto stony ground. 8D; The display was broken for real this time, aww.
I liked my good ol' cam so much that I wanted to have one like it again, but they're not being produced anymore by Samsung. So I stalked auctions on eBay and now have a silver version of it! 8DD Yay.

Speaking of digicams, I finally uploaded all of my Bolivia/Peru photos from last summer on Flickr (AND TO THINK IT ONLY TOOK ME 9 MONTHS, LOL).
I wonder if anyone would be interested in a Bolivia/Perú post where I tell about the traveling and add a few thumbnail links to pictures. XD Probably not. But I'll do it anyway (once I find my travel notebook), bwahahah.

I also know why I was feeling sorta miserable at times in the past few months. It might have partly been the stress, but that's not the major point. It's the damn hormones! I get this 3-months vaccine with hormones so I won't be PMSing (oh yes, I am doing this to you, read on XD) and I don't think it does me any good. I felt a lot less energetic and enthusiastic. So not gonna be continuing that! Originally I only got that for Bolivia, so whatever. I'm very happy with that decision and actually feel a lot better now. 8D *squees*

Hmmm, on a random note, I might start taking French again next semester. @_@; I've had it for so many years in school and it just doesn't feel right to forget the language that easily. I got no practise at all! I remember jack about tenses apart from present and simple past, but it would be a bit disappointing if they put me in the beginners course, ahahah. XD (if there's a pre-evaluation test at all) Zut! Maman prépare le repas, etc etc. XD

Zomg you guise,
I just downloaded the ZBrush trial and it totally rocks. :0 SO much more intuitive than any of the other 3D modelling programmes with 908304958309485 tools. I feel like a kid messing with mud, it's awesome. XDD. It's like Sculpey! 8D I downloaded it like 20 minutes ago and still suck at it, but maybe I can get better with some tutorials. XD *produces some horribly mutated duck monster*

JESUS CHRIST IT'S AN ENTRY, GET IN THE CAR!

Ah, angsty days. D8 I am really hoping that I'll get a good internship for 3 months this summer, even if that means I have to pre-write or postpone some exams. I need to get out of here for a while. D8
My parents make me feel like I am achieving nothing (never mind that I'm pretty busy studing, want me to take up a prestigeous full-time job now, how about an executive position? Lololol).
I've applied for a student job recently which is pretty cool, but the problem is that of course I can't get it when I want to do a summer internship. I REALLY want to do an internship. Then again, what if I decline the job now and then get nothing for the summer? @_@ That'll make me look/feel like even more of a loser. D: But I can't accept the job and then say in July "whoops sorry, got something else to do!1" when they specifically told me that they want someone for longer. FFFFFFFFUUU-
Yeah, I have to get over myself or something, I just don't know what to do, except maybe look and apply for more internships and hope for a job after summer.
But enough of that!

So, what are you guys planning for the summer? :000 Any neat vacation plans going on?

I'm actually back on DeviantArt, yay! XDD I'm looking forward to drawing something for myself, or rather my portfolio maybe. 8D; That really needs some real pictures. Did you get spam comments on DA as well? @_@ I got like 20-30 within a week! I believe someone hacked people's accounts, it's weird that someone would put such an effort into hacking just to post obvious spam. XD And they have a new design AGAIN, I feel so old. XDD

Crazy Christmas Rantings

Sooo, how's everyone dealing with Christmas shopping so far? XDD Not to stress you, but OMG GET YOUR PRESENTS, IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS!!1 LIKE TOMORROW!1 Lololol j/k. 8D;
I haven't bought all of them myself yet, but I've already got my parents' presents (a digicam for my dad and an mp3 player for my mom) all sorted out, so that's a plus. XDD I still have to get some stuff for my best friend (NOT TELLING LOLZ) and some other smaller stuffs.
Buuut, having something for my parents really takes pressure off me. XDDD It was so DIFFICULT to think up new stuff in the years before (you can't always give them books and ties after all XD; ), but now that they've got a laptop for themselves, it's gotten so much easier. XDD Now I'll just get them computer-related technology so they're FORCED to use it! XDDD HEHEHEHE.
(Next year I have to teach them how to reach my Amazon wishlist, I mean gee XDD)

About what I would wish for ...I have no idea. @_@ I might have to get a new iPod, since my old one's battery has noticeably lost power in the past months. 8D; Buut I dunno. D; Or maybe I'll wish for an external harddrive. Or something. Naw, that's boring. XDD Ah, I dunno. Clothes are boring too. What are you guys wishing for? 8D;;; (IMMA STEAL YOUR IDEAS)

In the past years I sent out some self-made digital Christmas card thinger with a picture I've drawn, I dunno if I can do something of the same effort this year. D8 NO TIME TO DRAW MUCH OMG~ I still have a commission to finish, and I should research my butt off for the next uni presentation (LOLZ lawsuits D8 ). ANYHOWSA. I'm loving our Christmas market. 8D CHOCOLATE-COATED MARSHMALLOWS FTW! (gotta take pictures of it)

I'm still trying to recover from how much money the failure of my old PC ate (and so suddenly D8{ ), but I'm loving the new one. 8)

This year I've been busy!

In April I invaded Iraq, broke it, and couldn't glue it back together before Mom got home (-1012 points). Last Wednesday I gave tania a wet willie, then I took it back (-5 points). Last week _telecaster and I donated clothes to the needy (11 points). Last month I pushed one48am in the mud (-17 points). In November I gave kateheightmeyer a Dutch Oven (-10 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-1033 points). For Christmas I deserve a moldy sandwich!

1) London trip this Dec cancelled.
2) I wrecked my computer.

XDDDDDDD

Now this might seem like a pretty depressing prospect, but wait! 8D; The friend I was going to fly with got sick so she can't go, and of course I'm not going alone. Though the money I saved by not going, I can now spend on a new computer. 8D;
I sorta-kinda wrecked my graphics card 2 days ago, and since my monitor was already broken, I figured I might as well get a whole new desktop pc (the old one was OOOOOOOLD with at least a hundred Os).
So I actually ordered one today and I can't wait for it to arrive. 8D It will be here around Friday! I hope there won't be any problems, because I'll go crazy if I have to spend another weekend carrying various types of monitors around... don't ask. XD)

Seems like every entry these ~~days~~ months I start with "HOMG I SHOULD BE ON LJ MORE" and this one is no exception! 8D;;; But but BUT, I have a rather good excuse this time for not being there. First university started again, and then there were 2 film festivals which I attended, 9 days in total. LOTS OF MOVIES. 8D I haven't even managed to upload half of the Bolivia photos yet. DD8 More like... a tenth, if at all. XD; Have a random one:

(did I mention that I tried to read "Twilight" during my Bolivia trip? I thought it sucked major donkey butt and I couldn't bring myself to finish it. 8D; SPARKLING LIKE A MILLION DIAMONDS? REALLY? Hugest Gary-Stu/Mary-Sue pairing I've ever witnessed. XDDD)

Heeee, I'm going to London for a week on Dec 3rd! 8DD I've never been there during winter, only in summertime. Can't wait for all the Christmas decorations and general London-ness, I love that city so much. ;u; YAY~

I've also been working on a portfolio. 8D; It sucks and isn't finished by far (and I pretty much want to throw out all of the art), but here's the link if you want to check it out. XDD
I needs to find me an internship for next summer, but I don't know where or what. D; Another country would be awesome, but that's so EXPENSIVE (and paid internships are rare), also working visas and blablabla.

Both festivals were awesome! The first one in Leipzig was about animation and documentary only (which is awesome, the only category missing to make it the perfect festival is sci-fi XDDDD) and the second one in my hometown was about international and German movies in General with a focus on video games, which was also awesome. XD
In total I watched about 45-50 films, but that was only possible because the majority was short films. 8D;;; The animation shorts were so cool!1 ♥

Here are some of my favourites that I found on teh_Tubes (unfortunately not all of them):

Global Warming (Australia/Serbia) - For starters, short and hilarious. XD

Muto (Italy) - This one BLEW MY MIND. @_@ Can you imagine the effort of painting each (HUGE) frame on a wall and then covering it with white paint again for the next frame? And the PERSPECTIVE! Holy shit.

Our Wonderful Nature (German) - This one was the winner of the German animation competition. XD

Berni's Doll (France) - Really disturbing at times, but also very much worth watching. XD

Last Time in Clerkenwell (USA) - A Flash animation that is actually a continuation of this animation about birds taking over London. This one is about the birds' regiment, very catchy. XD

Oktapodi (France) - A hilarious and cute animation about LOOK AT THE TITLE. XD

Margot (France) - A very well done dark stop-motion tale about a woman who killed her lover and is now in depression (it's in French, but pretty much self-explanatory)

Und dann haben sie auch noch Footage vom letzten Indy-Film gezeigt, als ob das jetzt irgendwas beweisen würde. IN DER SHOW IST *NICHTS* PASSIERT (außer, dass ein paar Penner bald eine hohe Handyrechnung bekommen, weil sie ein Dutzend MMSen mit verschwommenen Bildern von undefinierbaren Punkten im Himmel, womöglich Dreck an der Fensterscheibe, zu ProSieben geschickt haben als "Beweis" für Außerirdische). *wheeze*

Okay, so I've been wanting to try out Sculpey for a very long time now (although I probably suck at modeling, but I can model potatoes and lumps of ...stuff or something XD).
But it's near impossible to get it in any store in Germany. D8 My friend found a website selling it and I just ordered 2 "Super Sculpey CE Living Doll" thingers, each weighing almost half a kilo. XD I had to pay $48 (in-country shipping cost was like $9 wtf).
Sooo @_@ What does Sculpey cost in the US, anyway? Do you think it would be cheaper if I ordered it from the US? (Though the shipping costs to Germany might be outrageous 8D;)
And has anyone got advice for me how to use it? XDD (I already got wire like 6 months back, yay! XDDDD)

Hola guys!

One last short notice from Bolivia. 8D Man, we did so much here, it didn't even feel like a whole month. I'll be flying back to Germany on September 2nd. As nice as it was here, I can't wait. I need vacation from my vacation. XD;;; So much action going on here. Our last trip was Copacabana yesterday, so we'll be in La Paz for the last few days, but Suri's relatives are planning a big party and I have to cook something and omg. D8 AND THERE'S STILL SOME SOUVENIRS MISSING. I was actually quite sick in the past 3 days (probably my body telling me to slow down or to eat less bacteria or so XD), hopefully it'll get better now (cause tomorrow is COOKFEST, that's nothing for a queasy stomach).
You know what I'm missing? GERMAN BREAD. 8D; We're like the breadiest bread nation on this planet, so we always miss our bread when we're elsewhere. Oh yeah, and my family and friends and stuff. XD

HOLA, greetings from Bolivia! XD

Our travels here took 35 hours, that was exhausting I can tell you. @-@
We had to wait 5 hours on Charles-de-Gaulle in Paris, 10 hours in Sao Paolo (their airport is damn depressing D8 ) and 3 hours in Santa Cruz. But we are now in La Paz and it´s awesome! Everything is so cheap, teehee. I just bought crazy neon coloured socks with llamas on them. They look like graphics from some freaky Super Nintendo game XDDD
The altitude doesn´t even bother me much! It´s very awesome, but I have to go now, to write some more assuring e-mails. XDDD

IT'S MY LAST ENTRY BEFORE BOLIVIA ZOMG!1

I haven't been online a lot in the past few weeks because of the electrical engineering exam (which I wrote on Friday, phew x_x). I really can't say how it went, I hope I'll get a good percentage. Though I have to forget about it now, we won't get the results until in about 2 months or something, anyway. D8|

AND NOW FOR SOME BOLIVIA STRESSING!!1

Today I've already been to a pharmacy (YAY MALARIA CURE 8DDD) and out shopping for a lot of random stuff that was still missing. @_@ And did I mention that I'm only allowed to take 20 KG?? THAT'S NOT MUCH. X_X Especially if you're gone for a month and the empty suitcase already weighs a lot 8D;;; ...and if you want to bring home some souvenirs. XD; (COLOURFUL SOCKS! CHEAP JEWELRY!)
Tomorrow I have to go outside again, NOOOOOO!1 DDD; It's so hot here these days (like 32°C, which is really friggin hot by German standards) and I'd rather soak in the bathtub or something. D8
But alas, I think I have to change back some Dollars to Euros at my bank (if the exchange rate isn't too bad). Because apparently not even Bolivians (BOLIVIANS) want the Dollar that much anymore. D8 They like the Euro now. T_T WHICH MEANS that I shouldn't have exchanged so many Dollars in the first place~ I'll keep you updated on how much money I lost by changing it back to Euros. XDDDDDD
Edit: I lost about 15 Euros. 8D; I guess I can live with that.

Apart from stressing/freaking out over the exam, I haven't done much in the past weeks. XDDD HOW ARE YOU GUISE? ♥ Ohwheeeeemygawd, to think I won't have any interbutts for over a month. Or uh, newspapers. Or toilet paper? 8D; No, I think they have that one. Though if I'll be able to find an internet café (probably only once every 2 weeks in La Paz or Cusco), I could write an OMGEXOTIC!update with random Bolivia stuff (like how my left arm got bitten off by a wild llama).

Did I mention that I'm currently trying to learn Spanish within 2 days? XDDDD It's going better than I thought though, it's really similar to French... which doesn't mean that I'll be fluent anytime soon, but I guess I'll be able to do some small talk. XD (Except the Bolivian Spanish is very different from the Spanish Spanish, then I'm screwed. 8D; )

I'M SO AFRAID TO FORGET SOMETHING IMPORTANT, GUISE!1 I made a list and checked everything and thought about stuff and~~~~~ but you never know @_@...
Also, we're not even flying with the German Lufthansa airline, but for some sick reason they're responsible for our luggage. And guess what? THEY'RE ON STRIKE. I'm gonna raise a shitstorm if they don't get our luggage to Bolivia omg. D8{ OUR PRECIOUS LUGGAGE.

On Thursday I'll leave for Bonn where I'm gonna stay with my friend Suri for 3 days and on August 2nd we'll FLY! O-O First to Paris, then to Sao Paolo (where we will have A FULL 10 HOURS WAITING TIME, SAME FOR THE FLIGHT BACK. *sob* 8C ), then to La Paz, where we will faint because us whimpy Europeans will be like 2 miles above sea level and with a whole lot less oxygen. XDDD FUN!

You guys will be my news source! XDDD Tell me Godzilla destroyed Tokyo AND I MIGHT JUST BELIEVE IT. Or maybe not. But I dunno whether I'll be able to get any good English (much less German) newspapers there.

Oh, there's awesome news. 8D

Right, remember how I said I have to write an exam on electrical engineering real soon? I STILL DO. Lolololol BUT. Normally we have two of those, and one would've been shortly before my Bolivia trip, and one shortly after. And they both had to be taken in the same semester, otherwise they wouldn't count. Well, me and a few fellow students managed to that we could write them apart, so I only have to write the first one this semester, wheeeeee! (the 2nd one would've been a real problem to write this semester, as I would have only had like a week to study for it after Bolivia, which is waaaayyy not enough time. @_@) We were all sorts of anxious about splitting the exams these past weeks and I'm glad it worked. 8D

And the other awesome news: I'M GOING TO CHINA! XDDDD Bwaaahahaha. It's only a small trip really, but it will be made of awesome. My aunt's husband (Eros) wanted to visit China ever since I got the idea in his head that opening up ice cream parlors in China would be TEH_SHIT (he has one in Germany), because they're all about milk now and everything. So he just wants to check the cities out a bit (yeah, he's pretty spontaneous and random about it, haha) AND HE'S TAKING ME ALONG! 8DDDDD Eros also knows some guy he went to school with in Beijing, and apparently he's crazy popular (like some composer/actor/model dude), so that's gonna be very interesting. XD
Anyway, whoooooo! My Mandarin skillzorz will totally fail there, haha (Shanghai has its own dialect anyway). I don't exactly know yet when we'll be going, but it will be either this year, or in the beginning of next year. 8DDD

And of course this was AFTER I promised a friend we'd be going to London this winter... So I'll have some damn huge amount of traveling to do, SO EXCITED!!1

I'm gonna temporarily turn this into a Travel Journal, whaddaya think? XDDD

Hurrr. In other uni-related news, my weekend is full of Uni courses again. Why? BECAUSE I AM INSANE. I totally signed up for those on purpose. XDDDD

In other LJ news, I'm now back to a basic account. XD Not really missing the paid one though, since I never used any of the features except for the added icons, and those few pixels aren't worth paying for a paid account AND for added icons. XDD 6 are enough.

Agggghhhh, it's almost June! That means it's exam time again. DDDDDDDDDDDD8. It's so difficult to start learning again, especially when it's for electrical engineering. D8| Must...stop...procrastinating~~~~ackackack. I also noticed that I will write the exam on the day after the X-Files 2 movie premiere, noooooooo! (Oh wells, the German synchro is gonna suck anyway, now that Mulder gets a new voice actor. D: )
This semester is pretty stuffed with papers and projects alongside classes, so I better get my @ss moving. XD
Speaking of which, I started doing jazz dance again! XDD It's a mix of ballet and modern dance and it's fun! Those maniacs didn't do any stretching the first time I went there, so I had a pain in my right leg for a week 'cause it almost got ripped out of my torso during one of those stupid ballet jumps. 8D;

And of course, the ever-looming trip to Bolivia. We did a lot more planning and it feels so close now!
I booked rooms in a house in Cusco for us (it's the town in Peru where we'll be staying before our hike up to Machu Picchu) and guess what: It's a total hippie house! XDDDDDDDD I found it while randomly googling for accomodations and that one just made me smile since it's all colourful and hare krishna-y. It got a lot of recommendations and is right in the middle of the city, so I believe that will be awesome. I totally gotta remember to put a flower in my hair before arriving there. XDDD

I also already went to get a bundle of Dollars from my bank since the exchange rate won't be as high again in a while I bet. XD I'll take about 2/3 of the money in US$ and the rest in Euros (I was surprised that they actually do accept those in Bolivia).
Next week I'll be meeting with the guys I'm doing the trip with; my friend Suri, her brother and another friend of hers. We're gonna do some serious planning! XD It's probably also not hurting to get to know each other before travelling together, ahaha~
(Plus, they've got some seriously cheap and delicious sushi where Suri lives, NOMNOMNOM)

Me and a few friends were actually contemplating heading to London next month for a few days when we heard there was gonna be a huge concert taking place in Hyde Park (for Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday and AIDS charity)... or so they announced it. XDD Turns out the lineup is rather not worth the trip. D8 Too bad. I sort of feel sorry for Mandela now. XD; The tickets are really expensive, too. I still have hopes for a trip to London in winter or so, I miss it dearly. D;

Apart from that, there hasn't been much interesting stuff going on. XD The usual university stress, meeting friends~ etc etc. On a random note, I'm so happy with the new Doctor Who season! There was only one ep I didn't like that much so far (the daughter one), but last Saturday's episode was maaaaaaaah-vellous. ♥

Whooooo, I wrote the last exam today for the PAST semester. Telecommunications Technology! 8DD
Yes, we also write exams in the semester breaks. D; Lulz. So now I have about 2 weeks of an actual break left before the next semester starts again (although there won't be too much free time since I have to do some serious art slavery, which I couldn't do in the past month because of studying XD).
So sorry for everyone I neglected ♥ I'll try to keep up with my friendslist now and stuff! XDDD Aaaaah, I can almost feel my brain relax (if I had one, which I don't, so whatevs).
Now that I think about it, I should probably start preparing for next semester also. Aww shit. XD;

There's some horrible news for the German X-Files fans. D: Mulder might get a new voice actor since the original one, Benjamin Völz, and Fox (the company, not Mulder XD) could not agree on a contract! @_@ NOOOOOOOOO!11 Apparently they wouldn't pay him enough.
Now that might not seem like much of a problem to some, but COME ON. T_T Imagine your favourite show's favourite character suddenly having a new voice after NINE YEARS! It's just not right and totally distracting. ;_; I mean, not only will it sound different, the intonation and speech melody and ah... I don't even want to think about it. It's almost like having a whole different actor. X_x;;; It's awful since I grew up with the GERMAN X-Files (I gotta say that, and I'm sure most German fans agree, that the German dubbing of the show was excellent, which is a rare thing XD) and they probably won't have the English version on the big screen here... so what am I gonna do? DDDDDDD: I DON'T KNOW WHETHER I CAN TAKE A NEW VOICE. IT'S NOOOOOT RIGHT!1 D8{
Still hoping against hope that they're somehow gonna get Fox to pay the voice actors more, DAMMIT.

THE LAW EXAM WAS TODAY. Hell if that wasn't the most torturous exam I've ever written. @_@ I studied months for it, yet I still can't say whether I actually passed. D8|
Yesterday, my immune system decided it was about time to go on vacation again and I got sick. AGAIN. D8{ (like WTF, normally I'm never sick, but that was twice within a month ...must've been the stress)
I spent the night before the exam tossing and turning, going from sweating to shivering within seconds 8D;;;.
I got ONE hour of sleep before a highly difficult exam that lasted FOUR hours. XDDDD
And of course the shivering/sickness weren't gone when I got up. D:
I looked like I had drowned several days ago and just got pulled out of the river. D8| I FELT AWFUL AND LIKE THROWING UP OMG, but I HAD to write that exam, because it was effing srs bzns and I couldn't undo me signing up for it at that point anyway, I would've wasted a try. x-X So whatevs, I tried to pull myself together during those hours and concentrated real hard on solving the cases. I hope it paid out. D: BLOODY EXAM.

But whatever comes out of it,

And now some bitching for a change. XDDD

I don't know what it's like in your countries, but Germany officially starts carnival on November 11th and the final celebration day is today. (they don't celebrate all the way through though, just the 11th and 1 or 2 days leading up to today.
I dislike German carnival for several reasons. 8D; Firstly, part of it is probably that I'm not from Southern Germany, where it is a lot more popular and kids possibly grow up with all the hype about it there. That isn't too much of an argument though, since I've visited a lot of carnival parades as a kid.
Seriously, is carnival only that stupid in Germany? In Brazil you at least have sparkly costumes and the people can dance. In Venice, sure, it's become touristy, but it still has infinitely more class than what we have here.
Carnival parades here aren't as awesome as the word might suggest. They're not sparkly, there's no good music, no good dancers and no good costumes. There are hundreds of badly costumed marching bands all playing pretty much the same music, people trying to dance who obviously can't, carnival wagons with large paper mache figures that display neither wit nor beauty (it's mostly hit-you-over-the-head-obvious political caricatures)
The only good thing about it is probably the tons of free sweets that gets thrown. So this is what Germans do on carnival:
-Kids: Go to the parades to collect the sweets, fair enough.
-Teens/Adolescents: Go get totally wasted, any occasion will do.
-Adults: Wear the most tasteless mass-produced costumes imaginable (that look like a bad parody on 80ies fashion) and try to have a good time, just this once a year (and fail miserably to make it seem authentic, they're basically just as drunk as the younger ones, though not comatose yet).

There are a lot of carnival shows on tv right now with 50+ aged humourless individuals speaking in rhymes about everyday life and politics (and a good part of it is right-wing gibberish since they're more prominent in the south) to a forced joyful audience of the same age. Those are the people who normally have the metaphorical stick so far up their collective @sses that they'd report anyone to the police who had a moderate party OUTSIDE of carnival, shoo kids off their lawn and grumpily watch their neighbours' every move from their base at the window sill. Then once a year they decide to be "funny", dig up their eye cancer-inducing outfits and go to see one of those carnival shows (which you can't avoid for days because they're everywhere on tv), it's all so damn fake and pretentious really, it makes my skin crawl. XD;

Arrr, my damn Epson printer really angers me. D8{ It's already been known for some time (years?) that Epson uses chips to keep the ink cartridges from being refilled and also to "block" the printer if it reaches a certain age. Unfortunately I didn't know that when I bought mine all those years ago, I still don't get why manipulations of that sort aren't illegal. Anyway, on Friday my printer just stopped... working. I can still switch it on and it *pretends* to print, but it doesn't. I got all new ink cartridges because the old ones were already printing slightly wonky (even though they were still a third full, go figure). After inserting the new ones, it didn't print at all anymore. Not a single drop. And it still didn't after re-inserting the old ones, who should have at least still worked halfway! Auuuuughhhhhhh, I'm so mad at that effing company. I downloaded a little program which sets back the "counters" of the chips, but it told me that my printer model can only have the counters set back for special operations (whatever that means), so basically it doesn't work now and I've tried pretty much everyting. ]8|
Not having a printer at hand when I have to study a lot makes me all uneasy. x_x; (Also, those 4 new cartridges cost me SEVENTY-FUCKING-DOLLARS. Rarely have I seen a more blatant rip-off. *fumes*)

So who do you guys think will be the next president of the US and who would you want to get the position? Anything to get Bush out of office, really (he's currently butthurt that German troops won't join the fighting zone in South Afghanistan... well guess what, Destroyer-of-the-Worlds, it was YOUR moronic idea to go and invade countries, now don't whine if it blows up on your petty ass). I would like to see Obama win, but my candidates never get the majority. D8 Still hoping, though.

There, it's all out of my system, so I can stop moping now. *deep breath* XD

On a lulzier note, my parents are gone for a 2-weeks cruise along South Europe/North Africa (25 years of marriage thing) and I cooked something yesterday without burning down the house. 8D

I found a nice offer for horseback riding trips in Bolivia 8D ZOMG! ♥ That's especially awesome for me, because I missed being with horses so much. As a kid I'd ride a lot more, later in each vacation, but then it got less and less and now it's like one ride every 2-3 years. XD; But yay, there's this town near the salt desert which has several offers like that. We found a promising one offering a 2-day-trip, that'll be so awesome. 8D (our behinds are going to hurt so much XDDDD ♥)
Speaking of Bolivia, I finally got a trekking backpack for it, yaaay! It's awesome and trek-y and will totally make me fall over backwards if I pack it to the maximum. XDDD

Also, I don't know whether I mentioned that before, but I tend to unintentionally behave like someone out of a Charlie Chaplin movie. Yesterday I went to get new photos for my ID, and after inserting the money into the machine, I proceeded to scatter my personal belongings all over the cabin floor, the cabin (in the middle of a huge mall) being so narrow that I hit my head several times while picking everything up. Needless to say that the cabin's curtain was so short that everyone could see me. XDDD Oh well, at least I have the photos now (and it only cost me 6€ and my dignity).

Hmmmm, anything else? 8D; Oh, I watched the first Predator movie from 1987 and it's boring as hell. XDDD It's mostly about Arnold Schwarzenegger and his brainless military goons macho-ing around the jungle while the Predator itself plays only a minor part.
